Strength For Yoga (60 mins)

A 4 week personalised training package helping you to feel stronger, enhance your practice and day to day living - and if you wanted to, without having to leave the house!

 

This type of training is for you if you want to:

Develop Upper Body Strength

Develop Lower Body Strength

Develop Core Stability

Develop Back Strength

Develop Full Body Strength

 

What's Included:


Consultation

After completing an online form, there will be a zoom call to discuss your needs and goals.

 

4 private sessions, once a week

Using body weight and free weight exercises we will target strengthening underdeveloped muscles and correct muscular imbalances to enhance your practice.

Incorporating weights, resistance bands and other types of equipment in to your routine not only enhances your physical performance but can be a transformative step toward maintaining muscle mass, strength and overall health. The session will include;

 

15 minute Warm Up-  Focusing on active mobility and muscle activation

30 Minute Workout - To suit your health and fitness goals

15 minute stretch - Passive stretches targeting those worked muscle groups and to relax the body.

 

Homework

Accountability is everything so I will give you exercises to practice in between sessions.

Key points on how strength training benefits your yoga practice

Muscle Activation- Ensure muscles are better prepared to engage and hold postures effectively.

Improved Stability- Stronger muscles provide greater stability in postures, allowing you to hold postures longer, with better alignment, control and form

Advanced Poses Access- With increased strength you can safely attempt more challenging poses that require greater muscular engagement.

Enhances balance- For example exercises that focus on single leg stability eg pistol squats can improve your balance in yoga poses requiring one leg to be lifted.

Body awareness- Can enhance body awareness, allowing you to understand how your muscles are working in each yoga pose

Reduce the risk of injury- Strengthening muscles around joints helps protect them from injury and improve overall joint stability
